Spotlight on NMSSAMT Members
April Cole, MLT , recently passed the AMT national certification examination. She was the recipient of the state society’s Outstanding Student Award in 2007. She graduated with the highest GPA, earning her Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology from Apollo College in Albuquerque, NM. She was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa, a group that organizes school-wide community projects. She currently works at San Juan Cancer Center in Farmington, NM. She has been invited to be a speaker at the Spring Meeting 2009.
Robert Reid, BSHS, AHI(AMT), LMT, EMT-B will receive the AMT Chester Dziekonski Educational Grant Award at the 71st AMT National Convention in June 2009 in Minneapolis, MN. Mr. Reid is the first one from the state society to receive this annual award from AMT, which is an educational grant awarded to only one individual who will attend national convention. Mr. Reid is Chair of the Scientific Committee, and Associate Editor of El Tecnico.
Dr. Henry Oh, MT/AHI (AMT) will receive the AMT Distinguished Achievement Award at the 71st AMT National Convention in June 2009 in MN. He was the recipient of the 2008 Outstanding Atenean International Award in Academics, and the 2007 National Teacher of the Year Honorable Mention Award. He is the Director of the Health Sciences Simulation Center at San Juan College.
